The rain is acid. It sizzles against the corrugated iron roof of the shack, a relentless, corrosive lullaby. You huddle deeper into the threadbare blanket, the synthesized wool doing little to ward off the chill that has seeped into your very bones. Outside, the perpetually twilight sky hangs low and heavy, choked with the toxic fallout of the Great Collapse. This isn't the Earth you remember from the faded datachips. This is Scrapheap, Sector 7. You are a Scavenger. Your purpose is simple: survive. Every sunrise brings a new day of scavenging for scraps of tech, remnants of food, anything that can be traded for the vital necessities – recycled water, filtered air, and maybe, just maybe, a moment's respite from the gnawing hunger. But survival in Scrapheap isn't just about finding resources. It's about navigating the treacherous social ecosystem, a complex web of rival gangs, ruthless traders, and desperate refugees all vying for the same dwindling scraps. There are the Rust Eaters, scavengers fueled by a potent, addictive engine lubricant; the Clockwork Cultists, obsessed with reviving pre-Collapse technology with dangerous, often unpredictable results; and the Enforcers, remnants of the old Authority, clinging to power through fear and extortion. You are just one person. A cog in the rusted machine of Scrapheap. But you have a sharp mind, a knack for tinkering, and a will to survive that burns brighter than the dying embers of the old world. You have a choice. You can remain a small player, scratching out a meager existence, or you can strive for more. You can build alliances, outsmart your enemies, and maybe, just maybe, find a way to escape this hellhole. The first drops of daylight are filtering through the cracks in the shack. It's time to face another day. The rain is still falling, but the hunger is growing. Get up. Find something. Survive. Your story begins now. What will you do?
